The Township of King is part of the Region of York. It is situated
east of Peel, south of Simcoe County, north of the City of Vaughan,
and west of the Town of Newmarket.
The Township of King is a prosperous and vibrant community, proud
of its rural traditions and committed to balancing the benefits of
accessibility with the virtues of its natural environment.
King Township is located halfway between Toronto and Barrie,
stretching from Bathurst Street to just east of Highway 50. It
is approximately 40 minutes north of Pearson International Airport,
accessible by Highways 400, 27, 9 and 11. The Township comprises
19 percent of the Regional Municipality of York and has a population
nearing 20,000.
King features some of the most picturesque countryside in Ontario.
The rolling hills of the Oak Ridges Moraine are King's most prominent
geographical features boasting forests, world class horse and dairy
farms as well as Ontario's vegetable basket, the Holland Marsh.
